Surjeet Dheer

Surjeet Dheer is a proud Delawarean who graduated from the University of Delaware after attending Salesianum High School. He completed medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in 2016. He then finished internal medicine training with osteopathic recognition as a resident at Trinity Health — Mercy Catholic Medical Center.

Dr. Dheer went on to serve as an attending academic hospitalist at Mercy Philadelphia Hospital where he was involved in resident education. He then pursued a rheumatology fellowship which he completed at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine. During his fellowship he was appointed as a council representative for the Pennsylvania Rheumatology Society.

Dr. Dheer maintains current membership in the American Medical Association and the American College of Rheumatology, and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. His prior research has examined the impact of depression on rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis, as well as the evaluation of treat-to-target approach and disease activity measures in rheumatoid arthritis. At the state and local level, he has lectured on a wide variety of topics including rheumatoid arthritis management, psoriatic arthritis, connective tissue disorders, vasculitides, ocular manifestation of rheumatic disease, osteoporosis, gout, and osteoarthritis.

Dr. Dheer fluently speaks English, Hindi, and Punjabi. In his spare time he enjoys relaxing with his family, traveling, photography, and catching up on sports.
